We all do hundreds of things in a day. Some make us happy, and some don’t. But the actions that make us satisfied provide us true happiness or it’s merely a temporary feeling? People say that happiness is a choice, and you should only do things that make you happy. But what makes people happy nowadays, and what are the things that they do to be happy?

Nowadays, people are happy when they are scrolling on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, spending a lot of time on Netflix or any other social media platform. They just absorb negative and useless data. These kinds of people mess up with their own life. They are in the illusion that using social networks, devices and being with wrong people give them happiness. All these things just provide happiness on temporary basis.

Thoughts are something to be care. Your mind is like a garden, and the thoughts you have are like seeds. You’ll reap what you sow. But what we sowed in the past? Negative thoughts, negative mindset, and fear. We weren’t like this when we were kids. Our society, parents, and our school system bombarded these negative thoughts, anxiety, and self-doubt in our mind. But we can still have everything in control, instead of playing the victim game and blaming each other. Let us take responsibility for our self and our thoughts.

Happiness and sadness are two different sides of the same coin. Sometimes things are going great, and then suddenly, something terrible happens, and we lose our hope, motivation, and energy. When bad things happen, don’t think negative. People nowadays overthink about a problem. This habit can be responsible for many issues like mental illness, sleep problems, and many other problems also.

Life is a series of happiness and sadness. Whenever bad times comes, don’t lose hope. Keep going, have faith, and look to the positive side.

No one is perfect. Hard times are just part of life. Whenever you feel bad or get into a bad situation, remind yourself it’s just a bad day, not a bad life. And in these situations, positive self-talk is the key to remain calm and optimistic.

You might be thinking why I’m asking these kindness questions, because, kindness matters. Have you ever seen photos on the internet in which kids try to help a statue or an animal? They all are just kids, but they have feelings to do good for someone. Just search the internet you’ll find hundreds of photos and videos like this.

According to researches, Act of kindness increases the love hormone, also known as Oxytocin. This hormone helps in lowering the blood pressure and improves the health of our heart.

Another study that conducted in 2010 at Human business school found that the people who were involved in charitable donation we’re happy overall. And there are a lot of studies which proves that kindness increases energy, calms down your mind, makes you more confident, decreases stress, anxiety, blood pressure and helps in fighting depression.

So, wants to be happy? Let’s all do a simple act of kindness, whether it’s feeding a street dog or helping someone with their home work.
